1.  Journal:  What did you find out about your vaccines.  Hand in written paragraph.
2.  Medicine and your body, text p. 338:  ways medicine enters your body
  • ingestion - digestive system, stomach, bloodstream
  • injection - directly into the bloodstream
  • topically - absorbed through skin
  • inhaled - breathed in through nostrils to lungs to bloodstream
3.  In small groups research a medicine you know.  What is it for? (vaccine, antibiotic, pain relief) How is it taken? (ingested - stomach, injected - needle, topically - skin or inhaled - lungs) Why are the benefits; why is it good? (fast acting, reliable, treats many illnesses)  What are possible side effects? (upset stomach, headache, allergic reaction, over dose, habit forming/addictive)
